Algonquin holds a special place in my heart. To the point that I even get emotional every time I see that sign entering the park!

We tend to always stay at the same campground (Mew Lake), but this time we wanted to try something new. So we headed to the very busy Lake of Two Rivers. We stayed at site 154 which had some challenges. Our biggest issue was that people cut through our campsite all weekend long, to the point we had to rope it off I guess being so close to the comfort station has some disadvantages.

As much as our site was in the busiest section of the campground, there were many lovely sites along the river and closer to the beach at this campground that I think would have been lovely, just know that that it's very busy, no matter where you are. All of that being said, Yuka approved!!

One thing Lake of Two Rivers has going for it is the easy access to... you guessed it! The river! (Madawaska!) One of my favourite day trips from here is heading up the Lower Madawaska to Provoking falls.

The rest of the trip we relaxed, hit some of the trails, and the kids spent a lot of time biking and of course no trip is complete without a trip to the Lake of Two Rivers store for some Kawartha Dairy Ice Cream!
