Sharbot Lake Provincial Park serves as an inviting destination, offering visitors a chance to explore its natural beauty and recreational opportunities.
Sharbot Lake Provincial Park is in Frontenac County in Eastern Ontario, Canada. The park has an area of 80 hectares and was established in 1958. This recreation class campground has 194 camp sites.
The park fronts Black Lake and Sharbot Lake. These lakes provide a variety of experiences and challenges for the park user. Black Lake is small, quiet and sheltered while Sharbot Lake is large, deep and windy. Views to both Sharbot and Black lakes are afforded by the high ridge between them. The ridge area contains life and earth science features of local significance.

A 2 hour drive, and we arrived early enough to have a campfire and some smores! Check in was easy as was finding our site and getting parked and leveled. We were close to the beach, but at this time of year, we likely wouldn't be braving a swim.
Quick to settle in for the night so we could enjoy what the park had to offer!
There are lots of things to do at Sharbot Lake. The Ontario Parks website lists, birding, boating, canoeing, fishing, hiking one of the 2 short trails (Discovery trail 1.2 loop and Ridgeview trail .5km in and out, reaching a spectacular view between Sharbot Lake and Black Lake.
The next morning, we headed to Black Lake early, the sun was just above the trees and the clouds were dramatic. We weren't sure what the weather was going to do!

It turned out to be a beautiful day! The water still and calm, the quiet of the park so peaceful.
It was nice to get away for the weekend. Overall, we enjoyed our trip. Sharbot Lake is a lovely little park. We like something with some bigger hiking opportunities, but spending time on the water made up for that.
