It was a beautiful day for a walk. We left my friend E's house at 1pm and made it to Petroglyphs Provincial Park just before two. There were only 2 other cars there, a relief to see, since there was so many up the road at the entrance to the High Falls walking path.

Petroglyphs Provincial Park is a historical-class provincial park situated in Woodview, Ontario, Canada, northeast of Peterborough. It has the largest collection of ancient First Nations petroglyphs in Ontario.
The park is open May - October, so visiting in winter you must park at the gate and walk in. The actual petroglyphs building is also closing for viewing.
Things to Do: Birding, Hiking (There is 3 trails ranging from 5km to 7km to hike, but hiking the roads in the winter is beautiful!).
It's also important to know that if you are visiting in the summer to see the petroglyphs that photography is not allowed at the sacred site.
Visit the beautiful bright blue/green McGinnis Lake – one of only a handful of meromictic (layers of water that don’t intermix) lakes in Canada.
Starting out on our adventure, it was a beautiful -4 C, so no chance of it melting on our walk.

My pup Yuka enjoyed the view too! This little lake was about the halfway point of our walk. One of many, there was another we passed that was a bit further back behind the tress could see over in the distance there is a little rock cliff that looks like it would be amazing spot to sit in the summer and just reflect.

We ended up walking 4.3 KM in before turning around. On our way back out the sun was getting low in the sky, and the deer started to appear at every turn!! It was amazing to see, in total we saw 12!

Time to head back!! 8.47 KM walked and a beautiful day overall!
